My diary of going from absolute zero fitness to half ironman. The trials and tribulations of my training up to my first race in 2009 and then post race my continuing battle to remain fit. If you find you're always thinking about getting fit but never quite starting and you could be inspired by seeing that anyone can do it . Then I think you'll find that inspiration here.
I know the feeling... I experienced the same thing when I went from a 12 m pool to a 25 m and now a 50m one... All I can say is once you get used to it, it gets more comfortable in the long one as it is easier to get some kind of rythm. At least that's how I feel. I am planning to go tomorrow after work if you are interested.

I was at the Docs this morning at request of Team K Manager, for a check up. everything looks OK. Heart rate and blood pressure very low :o) Fit for my age said the Doctor.
ReplyDeleteDo you smoke she say... No
Do you drink alcohol... No not really for the past year.
thats a first
Are you going to the 50M pool ?
ReplyDeleteI bet that was a first...LoL... good for you!
ReplyDeleteI was in hospital for yet another test this morning-- MRI of the knee this time..
Appointment with the knee specialist scheduled for May 12th... So little hope to get the problem fixed for June 7 th but I guess the main thing is I am back in shape. Even pulled a fantastic 8k run time (38.03) on a very challenging course.(500 m ascent). That's a full 4 minutes better than my previous best on that course.
Yes the pool is the 50 m one. It's open till later (8PM I believe) on Friday.. That's also when the Belgian tri team is training so we can measure up with them... :)

no surprise for me on the improving time, you're a real dark horse :O)...Genetically Gifted :O) Were you abroad doing a 500M climb in Belgium over 8K isn't easy :D
ReplyDeleteLol... I checked as I was wondering too... GPS watch shows 500 m in total which translates to 1 m ascent for every 16m, that seems reasonable to me :)
